The Penguins have hired former Team USA hockey player Krissy Wendell-Pohl as one of their team scouts. She becomes the first female scout in Penguins history. Wendell-Pohl will serve in her native Minnesota area. She skated in two Olympics and captained her University of Minnesota team to back-to-back national championships in 2004 and 2005. Krissy also was the first female to start as a catcher in the history of the Little League World Series in Williamsport. She was part of a team from Minnesota that represented the Central Region in 1994.
