The Pens moved back into sole possession of third place in the Metropolitan Division with 83 points. They are two points behind the second-place New York Islanders with 13 games remaining in the regular season.
The victory snapped a 19-game point streak for the Bruins, who had not lost a game in regulation since January 19th. That was the longest stretch for an NHL team since World War II.

The Washington Capitals defeated Winnipeg 3-1 Sunday, and remain six points ahead of the Penguins. Former Pens winger Carl Hagelin scored the game-winning goal for the Capitals in the game. Washington has not lost since acquiring Hagelin, and have won seven in a row.
The Pens will host the Capitals Tuesday.
