With people looking to spend time enjoying the outdoors over the next several months, Penn State Extension is offering information about the dangers of ticks.
A three part webinar series about ticks and the prevention of tick-borne disease is scheduled to begin Wednesday with a basic overview and continue Thursday as well as next Tuesday.
May is National Lyme Disease Awareness Month and Pennsylvania is ranked first in the country for the presence of illnesses transmitted by ticks. This program will focus on several species of ticks that are of concern to people and animals in Pennsylvania as well as how to reduce the risk of tick bites.
Each webinar in the series is one hour and will take place at 11 a.m. as well as be recorded for later viewing. Registration is required to receive the link to this free webinar. For more information, visit the website of Penn State Extension.
