Even though winter weather could continue to stick around for a few more weeks, spring has definitely sprung and the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners are encouraging pollinator friendly gardens.
The Pollinator Certification program allows home gardeners to join in the effort to create safe havens for bees and butterflies which directly impact the world’s food supply.
The Master Gardeners are expecting to reach a total of over 1,000 gardens certified statewide so they are celebrating with free decorative pollinator friendly garden signs for 10 participants as well as $75 in free plants and a feature in the program’s newsletter for one gardener.
