Penn State officials are asking that you not bring an unwanted traveler with you to Happy Valley this fall.
Agriculture leaders at the college say to make sure the spotted lanternfly isn’t on your vehicle or in camping gear before you head into State College.
The small insect is a very invasive pest that can cause damage up to 70 different types of plants.
Right now, the spotted lanternfly hasn’t officially been seen in Butler County, but officials say if you see one to kill it quickly.
