Anyone with items to donate to a worthy cause is asked to help out a recent fundraising effort by Penn State Extension.
Educator Penny Ward explains what items will be accepted at the extension office at 101 Motor Pool Way on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m.
“We’ve been collecting baskets and items for months,” Ward said. “Some of the things we already have are household items, birdfeeders, handmade crafts, gift cards, and a brand new sewing machine.”
The items will be used in a public auction coming up Saturday, October 19th at 6 p.m. at East Butler Volunteer Fire Hall to benefit local participants in 4H programs.
The local Extension office is also open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for anyone able to find items or encourage a business to donate a basket for auction.
