Repairs have been made to the roof of downtown Butler’s iconic Penn Theater but plans for the future of the property remain stalled.
Members of the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler received an update that a leaking portion of the roof of the structure was recently repaired by authority maintenance staff.
The cost to make those repairs is unknown at this time, but another small leak has been found since then and will also need to be repaired and sealed.
Although some interest was shown in the theater several months ago by the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau, no recent developments have been made public.
The Penn Theater is owned by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler but money is still owed on that purchase to the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation.
