Students at local high schools still have time to use problem-solving, creative, and strategic-thinking abilities to solve real-world problems.
Submissions for the sixth annual PennDOT Innovations Challenge will continue to be accepted through this Friday.
This year’s focus to is help address the shortage of commercial truck parking on major interstate corridors in the state. Officials say many trucks park on the side of the highway overnight and that is a major safety concern. Solutions must obey local ordinances and zoning laws.
Regional winners will be selected to go to Harrisburg and compete for the state championship and a $4,000 award to the first place team. Those interested in more information about this contest should visit PennDOT’s website for more details.
