A batch of wintry weather is expected to hit Butler County tonight, and PennDOT crews want to remind drivers to take it easy on the roads.
With rain likely preceding snow, PennDOT crews say they’ll be unable to pre-treat roads prior to the snowfall. So, while crews stand ready to treat roads when the winter weather arrives, they want drivers to make sure they travel safely during slick conditions.
They say to allow plenty of time to reach your destination. Make sure to keep a safe distance of at least five seconds behind the vehicle in front of you, and brake very lightly to keep your tires from slipping on pavement.
Also, PennDOT says do not pass any snow plows.
