PennDOT officials are reminding residents that one year from today will begin federal enforcement of REAL IDs.
A REAL ID will be necessary for those who want to fly domestically or if you enter a federal building.
In order to get a REAL ID you need proof of identity like a birth certificate, proof of a social security, and two proofs of your current address.
There is no requirement for any resident to obtain a REAL ID. PennDOT will still be offering a standard-issue driver licenses and photo IDs.
