Crews will be taking the next step in a few local road projects later this week.
PennDOT officials say that beginning tonight (Sunday) at 6 p.m. through July 28th flaggers will direct traffic on Three Degree Road north of Route 228 to Davidson Road onto a detour using Route 228, Mars Evans City Road, Union Church Road, and Valencia Road. This will allow crews to accomplish widening of the roadway, drainage installation, traffic signal work, ADA ramp construction and driveway adjustments.
PennDOT will also be continuing a waterline replacement project on Franklin Road starting tonight at 6 p.m. Flagging with single lane closures is planned between Route 228 and Hillmont Drive until 6 a.m. through the end of next week (7/25). Crews will widen the shoulder, install edge-line rumble strips, and improve sight distance.
Finally, PennDOT plans to close Double Road as part of the Route 68 corridor improvement project beginning tomorrow (Monday) and continuing through Saturday, July 26th. Crews will do a full-depth asphalt replacement to restore the structural integrity of the roadway. A detour will be posted using Dick Road. This nearly $19 million project will be completed in November.
