The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is inviting the public to particapate in the process to develop a new State Rail Plan.
PennDOT is teaming up with the Federal Railroad Administration to hold two virtual public meetings this week with the first on Monday from 4 to 5 p.m. and the second on Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m.
The State Rail Plan is required to be updated every four years and these virtual meetings will cover topics such as a clear vision for the future of rail transportation in the state as well as goals and objectives to be able to realize that vision. Passenger and freight rail needs will be evaluated and documented in order to guide investments over the next 25 years.
Anyone interested in registering to attend is asked to visit the Pennsylvania State Rail Plan website.
