Pennsylvania’s top law enforcement official is again joining with colleagues from other states to investigate the impact of a social media platform on young people.
Attorney General Josh Shapiro and several other Attorneys General are investigating TikTok, for providing and promoting the social media platform to children and young adults in a way that is associated with harm to physical or mental health.
The investigation will determine if the company violated state consumer protection laws by using techniques to increase the frequency and duration of engagement by young users.
Along with several colleagues in other states, Shapiro previously launched an investigation of Instagram over similar concerns last year.
