Pennsylvania’s Attorney General is touting the work of their Medicaid fraud department.
A recently released report ranked Pennsylvania as the number one ranked state in Medicaid fraud charges filed against individuals and third in convections secured.
Officials cite the state’s Medicaid Fraud Control Section that is under the office of Attorney General.
In 2024 the section recovered over $11.3 million in misused Medicaid funding and saw 113 charged with 74 convictions.
“Those who defraud our Medicaid program take vital services away from those in need while violating taxpayers who help fund the program,” said Attorney General Dave Sunday.
Sunday who was sworn in January of this year now leads this section of the Attorney General’s office.
