Pennsylvania residents are being advised to be on the lookout for scams connected to next week’s Super Bowl.
According to Acting Attorney General Michelle Henry big sporting events like the Super Bowl attract scammers looking to cash in with fraudulent tickets, fake travel services, or unauthorized merchandise.
Officials recommend that residents be careful about pop-ups that link away from legitimate websites, watch out for extra fees some websites charge just before checking out, and always use a credit card for payment so that the charge can be disputed if necessary.
Anyone who believes they have been scammed should file a complaint with the Attorney General’s office Bureau of Consumer Protection.
