Hunters who have secured an elk license will soon have the chance to take advantage of the opportunity.
General elk season opens Monday and continues through Saturday, November 4th.
According to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, 144 elk hunting licenses have been allotted for this season, split up between archery in September, general, and late season which begins December 30th.
The Game Commission says that last year hunters harvested a total of 131 elk across all three seasons including 55 bulls and 76 cows.
