Pennsylvania Game Commission officials are lifting their recommendation against feeding birds.
The Commission made that recommendation last month due to birds in 10 states becoming sick or dying as a result of an unknown illness.
The cause of the illness is still undetermined but it seems to be resolving on its own. There is no indication that feeding birds or maintaining bird baths were contributing factors.
Research has ruled out many potential causes such as salmonella, coronavirus, parasites, heavy metal toxicity, and pesticides. No human health or domestic animal issues have been documented.
