The Pennsylvania Game Commission is reminding residents that even with the economic conditions brought on by coronavirus, it remains illegal to shoot wildlife contrary to state laws.
Shooting wild game out of season or in disregard to bag limit is called poaching. Game wardens remain on duty and prepared to enforce Pennsylvania’s game law.
The Game Commission encourages licensed hunters to apply for an Agricultural Deer Control Permit, also called a Red Tag Permit, which allows for the harvest of an antlerless deer on enrolled properties though September 25th.
Any person who would like to receive lawful deer meat should call the Northwest Region office in Franklin to be placed on a list.
