The Pittsburgh Penguins will host the New York Islanders tonight for Game 5 of their Stanley Cup Playoff series. Face-off at PPG Paints Arena is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am will be 6:30pm.
The Islanders defeated the Pens 4-1 in Game 4 Saturday on Long Island. The series is tied 2-2.
Zach Aston-Reese scored his first career playoff goal in the game. It was also the first short-handed goal the Penguins have scored in the post-season since April 2017.
The Penguins committed six penalties in Game 4. Evgeni Malkin hit the sin-bin three times in his second game back from an injury. The Pens are 1-for-8 on power plays in the series and have managed just seven shot with the man advantage. The Islanders are 3-for-12 in the series.
The winner of this series will meet the Boston Bruins in the second round, after the Bruins closed out their series with Washington in five games following a 3-1 win Sunday. The Bruins outshot the Capitals 41-19 in the game.
–Colorado completed a four-game sweep of St. Louis with a 5-2 win Sunday.
–Nashville defeated Carolina 4-3 in two overtimes Sunday. The series is now tied 2-2.
–Winnipeg defeated Edmonton 5-4 to take a 3-0 series lead.
