The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2 last night and have taken over first place in the Eastern Conference Metropolitan Division. Conor Sheary scored twice for the Pens, who now lead the Washington Capitals by one point. The Pens are now three points in front of the Flyers with 14 games remaining.
Evgeni Malkin scored his 38th goal of the season in the game. Phil Kessel his 28th. Tristan Jarry stopped 26 of 28 shots on goal. The Pens visit Toronto Saturday, then host Dallas Sunday.
