The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 last night. Evgeni Malkin scored the game-winner for the Pens on a power-play in the third period. Patric Hornqvist scored on a power play in the second period. Conor Sheary added his sixth goal of the season, also in the second period. Goaltender Matt Murray improved to 8-2-1 overall, he stopped 35 of 37 shots on goal.
The victory moved the Penguins into sole possession of second place in the Metropolitan Division standings. The Pens are one point behind New Jersey, who won their third game in a row last night.
The Pens visit Calgary tonight at 9pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am will be 8:30pm.
