The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 in overtime last night. The Pens took a 2-0 lead in the opening period. Carolina scored three times in the second period before Erik Karlsson tied the game early in the third period. The Hurricanes scored the game-winner 90 seconds into the overtime. It was the Penguins eighth consecutive loss on Carolina’s home ice in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Pens earned points in both of their games over the weekend, losing a 3-2 shoot-out to Florida Friday night.
