The Pittsburgh Penguins fell 2-1 in overtime to the Tampa Bay Lightning last night at PPG Paints Arena. Evgeni Malkin scored the lone Penguins goal on an assist from Sidney Crosby. The Lightning scored just under three minutes into the overtime to sweep the season series. Matt Murray stopped 37 of 39 shots in net for the Penguins, who saw the debut of newly-acquired winger Jason Zucker.
The Pens had won eight of their last nine overtime games. The Pens will host Montreal Friday.
