The Montreal Canadiens defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-1 last night at PPG Paints Arena. The Canadiens scored three second period goals ending goaltender Tristan Jarry’s shutout streak over more than 177 minutes, which set a Penguins record. Jake Guentzel scored the Penguins only goal. It was his 17th of the season. Carey Price stopped 33 of 34 shots for the Canadiens.
The loss dropped the Penguins back to fifth place in the Metropolitan Division, after Carolina defeated Edmonton 6-3 last night. The Pens will host Columbus Thursday at 7pm.
