The Dallas Stars defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 in a shoot-out last night. John Marino scored the lone regulation Penguins goal. Tristan Jarry stopped 28 of 29 shots in regulation. Dallas outscored the Pens 2-1 in the shoot-out to earn the extra point. There were no power plays in the game last night, with both teams sharing one roughing penalty in the third period.
Last night the Penguins honored long-time voice of the team Mike Lange at PPG Paints Arena, who retired in August. But – the evening was not enough to continue the Penguins sellout streak, which ended at 633 games. The streak spanned more than 14 years, beginning February 14, 2007 at the Civic Arena. Last night, just over 16,000 fans were in attendance.
The Pens will host Toronto Saturday night.
