The Pittsburgh Penguins lost their third consecutive game last night, falling 7-3 to the Buffalo Sabres. The Pens allowed five goals in the second period. Head coach Mike Sullivan pulled goaltender Tristan Jarry for the second straight game after he allowed four goals on 12 shots. Evgeni Malkin missed his second game with an “upper-body” injury.
Sidney Crosby scored his 26th goal of the season in the first period, and guaranteed his 20th consecutive season averaging a point per game, setting an NHL record.
The Penguins are briefly back home to host Ottawa Sunday at 5pm. WISR pre-game is 4:30pm. The Pens begin a three-game road trip in St. Louis next Thursday.
