The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 in overtime last night. Bryan Rust scored the game-winning goal with just over a minute remaining in the overtime period. That goal came just 19 seconds after he had another goal waved off because of an off-side play. The victory gave the Penguins a sweep of their three-game road trip and evened their record at 6-6.
Sidney Crosby, Jake Guentzel and Lars Eller scored the other Penguins goals. Magnus Hellberg stopped 33 of 36 shots on net for the Penguins, with Tristan Jarry sidelined with an eye injury.
The Pens return home to host Buffalo Saturday at PPG Paints Arena. Face-off is 7:30pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 7pm.
