The Washington Capitals jumped out to an early four-goal lead on their way to a 4-3 victory last night at PPG Paints Arena. The Capitals scored just 55 seconds into the game, and chased Penguins starting goaltender Tristan Jarry from the game in the opening period. Sidney Crosby, Jake Guentzel and Rikard Rackell scored for the Penguins. Crosby’s 21st goal of the season was on a second period power play.
The Pens visit the Boston Bruins Thursday. The Bruins won their fourth game in a row last night with a 4-1 victory over Columbus. Boston leads the NHL with 52 points. The Pens have 40 points, and are two points out of a Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
Penguins forward Bryan Rust returned from Injured Reserve for last night’s game.
