The Pittsburgh Penguins completed their three-game road trip with a 6-3 victory last night in Montreal. Lars Eller scored twice to lead the Penguins. Kevin Hayes scored the game-winner. The Penguins had taken a 2-0 lead in the first period, before the Canadiens scored three consecutive goals. But, the Penguins scored the final four goals of the game, including an empty-net goal by Evgeni Malkin in the game’s final 10 seconds. Malkin is now one goal away from 500 in his career. Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry earned his first victory of the season stopping 24 of 27 shots.
The Pens opened their road trip with a 6-3 win in Detroit last Thursday, before losing 4-2 in Toronto Saturday. The Penguins are back home to host Buffalo Wednesday. They will host Carolina Friday night before heading back to Canada for a four-game road trip beginning Sunday afternoon in Winnipeg.
