The Pittsburgh Penguins visit the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight. Face-off is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 6:30pm.
The Pens have won four games in row and were briefly in a playoff spot over the weekend. Detroit defeated Buffalo 3-1 Sunday to slip back into the final Eastern Conference Wild Card spot by one point over the Penguins. The New Islanders are two points in front of the Penguins for third place in the Metropolitan Division. The Penguins play both teams in their final six games. The Pens host Detroit Thursday and will end their season April 17th in New York against the Islanders.
In Saturday’s win over Tampa Bay, Sidney Crosby became just the seventh player in NHL history to score 40 games in a season after turning 36 years of age. The Pens won that game 5-4 despite blowing a 4-1 lead. Evgeni Malkin scored twice in that victory and has 25 goals this season.
