An ongoing benefit program will aid Butler City residents affected by flood waters back in July.
A $2,000 check was donated to the Butler County Emergency Relief Initiative on Tuesday through the Peoples Eat, Drink, Help program.
The relief program, known as BERI, is continuing to aid people affected by the severe flooding in parts of the city of Butler and Butler Township on July 5.
The Eat, Drink, Help program supports local businesses, while at the same time benefiting local charities and nonprofits. Peoples Natural Gas partners with a business, and that business chooses a local charity to support.
The donation was presented on Tuesday at the Burger Hut in downtown Butler. Butler County Commissioners Leslie Osche, Kim Geyer and Kevin Boozel were in attendance, as well as representatives from the United Way of Butler County.
