Peoples Natural Gas celebrated a new milestone in donations late last week after a $1,000 donation to several local non-profits.
This past Friday, Peoples made another $1,000 donation at Pennie’s Bake Shop and Espresso Bar. During this partnership for every purchase at Pennie’s a dollar was donated to the Children’s Advocacy of Butler County. It also included a sticker promoting Peoples Gas, Pennie’s, and the children advocacy group.
With this donation, Peoples celebrated their $200,000 donated since their program began in 2016. The initiative started when Peoples began partnering with businesses across their service territory area to raise funds for non-profits with small dollar grants.
Nick Paradise is the Communication Manager for People’s and he sees using the Peoples name and brand as a way to support the community.
“Using the Peoples name and give a little more visibility to encourage members of the community to shop at small businesses, with that carrot at the end that we’ll be giving and supporting a charity as well has all come together very nicely,” Paradise said.
That $200,000 has been spread across 125 non-profits across Western Pennsylvania.
