Peter George Botsis, 79, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 17, 1941 in Wilkes-Barre, the son of the late George P. and Sylvia (Pikoulas) Botsis.
Peter belonged to St. Peter’s Anglican Church where he had served as an usher. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired as a lieutenant from the Butler City Police in 1994. After retirement, he worked at the Butler County Courthouse as a tip staff for 15 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was an avid sports fan, loved every team of Pittsburgh, golfing, running, bowling and NASCAR.
Surviving are his 4 daughters, Kim (Wayne) Anthony of Butler, Robin (Barry) Hile of Fenelton, Megan (Tony) Grenek of North Hills and Melissa McGraw of Butler; 8 grandchildren, Chris (Lora), Justin, Lars, Kendra, Brenna, Marley, Trey and Reed; 2 great grandchildren, Evelyn and Henry; 2 sisters, Harriet (Joseph) Herring of Butler and Anne (George) Diener of Jamestown, OH; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Marina McGraw and a brother, Allan Botsis.
Friends will be received at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on , Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 1-4PM. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, please wear a mask and social distance.
Private blessing service and burial will be held at Butler County Memorial Park with military honors.
