A mobile home was destroyed and a couple of pets died in a fire over the weekend in Evans City.
Multiple crews were called to a home on Pioneer Road just before 2 a.m. Saturday. When crews got on scene, they found a working fire with flames and smoke.
Firefighters tried to use a nearby fire hydrant, but discovered it wasn’t working forcing them to use one near Route 68.
The family was able to get out of the home safely, however two dogs died in the fire.
Crews spent over two hours battling the fire. They would be called back out later after the fire rekindled.
