The Pennsylvania Game Commission says there should be plenty of pheasants available for harvest as the new season kicks off.
Statewide pheasant hunting season begins this Saturday in Pennsylvania.
The Game Commission is estimating there are around 235,000 pheasants this year. That’s up nearly 15,000 from last year.
Officials also say there’s been an increase in pheasant license purchases, which they feel is reflective of the growing popularity of pheasant hunting.
Licenses cost just under $27 and need to be signed and carried while hunting.
