The field to replace outgoing Senator Pat Toomey continues to grow in both parties.
On Thursday, Dr. Kevin Baumlin of Philadelphia announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination. He currently serves as the director of emergency and urgent care services at Pennsylvania Hospital.
On the Republican side, the Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting Sean Parnell is highly likely to enter the race. Parnell lost a close race to Conor Lamb in the Pennsylvania’s 17th District last year.
Toomey is set to retire in 2022—so the primary for these races is still more than a year away.
