–The Knoch boys basketball season ended Friday night, when they lost to Cathedral Prep 70-57 in the PIAA Class 4A First Round. The Knights completed their season 19-8 overall.
–The Grove City boys defeated Clearfield 71-70 Friday night, also in the Class 4A First Round. The Eagles will meet Cathedral Prep in the Second Round Tuesday at Edinboro.
Also Friday night – the Karns City girls defeated Ellwood City 44-31 in the Class 3A First Round. Naomi Venesky led the Gremlins with 16 points. Karns City will face Central Cambria in the Second Round Tuesday. The game will be played at Armstrong high school.
The North Catholic boys and girls teams won their First Round state playoff games, with the North Catholic boys defeating Hickory 72-56 in the Class 4A First Round Friday night. The Trojans will meet Beaver in the Second Round Tuesday at North Allegheny high school.
–The North Catholic girls defeated Penn Cambria 59-29 Saturday afternoon in the Class 4A First Round. The Trojanettes will face Hickory Wednesday in Oil City.
–The Mars girls lost to West York 54-44 in the Class 5A First round. The Mars boys also lost to West York 53-51 in the Class 5A First Round Friday night.
–The Slippery Rock girls were eliminated by WPIAL Class 4A champion Oakland Catholic 80-29 on Saturday.
