The Pittsburgh Pirates and Detroit Tigers game last night was postponed due to weather. The clubs will play a day/night doubleheader today. First game will be 2:10pm. The second game is scheduled for 6:40pm. Hear both games on WISR. First game pre-game is 1:45pm.
Former Pirate and Pine-Richland graduate Neil Walker has retired. The 35-year old Walker came up through the Pirates organization and went on to play for a total of six teams in the major leagues over 12 seasons. The Pirates selected Walker with their first-round pick in the 2004 draft. He made his big league debut in 2009. Walker finishes his career with a .267 average, 149 home runs and 609 RBI’s. He played 18 games with the Philadelphia Phillies last season.
