The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Los Angeles Angels 10-7 last night for their second consecutive victory. The Pirates pounded 17 hits in the game, and hit four home runs. Adam Frazier, Bryan Reynolds and Starling Marte picked up three hits each. Josh Bell drove in three runs and hit a home run for the third consecutive game. The Bucs came back from a 4-0 deficit in the game.
Last night’s victory guaranteed the first series win 10 series for the Pirates. They had not won a series since prior to the All-Star break.
The Bucs and Angels complete their three-game series tonight at 8:07pm. WISR pre-game is 7:40pm. Chris Archer will start for the Pirates.
The Pirates are off tomorrow, then begin a 10-game home stand Friday.
The three hits by Bryan Reynolds last night has moved the Pirates rookie outfielder to the top of the National League batting race. Reynolds is now batting .338 and leads Milwaukee outfielder Christian Yelich by five points. Josh Bell currently has the most RBI’s in the major league’s with 98.
