The Pirates received another quality start from Mitch Keller, who went six innings, allowing one earned run and striking out five. However, the offense was stagnant again and the bullpen imploded leading to a 7-1 loss to the Cincinnati Reds at PNC Park.
Joey Bart provided the only RBI for the Pirates, who have now gone 24 consecutive games without scoring more than 4 runs. The last time that happened was the 1971 Philadelphia Phillies.
The Pirates take on the Reds again tonight. First pitch at 6:40 p.m. on WISR.
