The Pittsburgh Pirates lost to the Atlanta Braves 2-1 in Grapefruit League play Tuesday. Jared Jones started the game for the Bucs. He tossed two scoreless innings and struck out three. Jones allowed a hit and walked one batter. Ke’Bryan Hayes had two hits in two at-bats, including a double. Catcher Joey Bart drove in the lone Pirates run. Bryan Reynolds scored after hitting a double.
The Braves scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings off relievers David Bednar and Colin Holderman.
The Bucs play split squad games this afternoon. They host Baltimore in Bradenton and visit the Braves is Venice, Florida. That game will be televised on the MLB Network. Both games have 1:05pm start times.
