The Pittsburgh Pirates open a three-game series with the Houston Astros tonight. Trevor Williams will start for the Bucs and former Pirate Gerrit Cole will start for Houston. Williams is making his second start after returning from the Injured List last week. He is 2-1 this season with a 4.12 ERA. Cole is 6-5 this season with the Astros with a 3.54 ERA. He leads all of major league baseball with 148 strikeouts.

The Bucs will begin the night tied with Cincinnati for last place in the National League Central Division. They trail the first-place Chicago Cubs by six games. Both teams are 3-1/2 games back in the Wild Card chase.
Since being swept by both Milwaukee and Atlanta, the Pirates have won six of eight games. After the series with the Astros, the Bucs will play their next 13 games against the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs.
