The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-3 last night at PNC Park. The Pirates had 10 hits in the game, led by Jose Osuna and Pablo Reyes who had two hits a piece. Bryan Reynolds hit his 11th home run of the year. Steven Brault returned from the disabled list and allowed two earned runs on three hits over 5-1/3rd innings. He walked one and struck out six. Francisco Liriano took the loss when he allowed one run in the seventh inning.
The Pirates have now lost four games in a row, and 20 of 24 since the All-Star break.
The Bucs and Brewers complete their three-game series tonight at 7:05pm. WISR pre-game is 6:40pm. Trevor Williams will start for the Pirates. The Bucs have Thursday off and head to St. Louis for the weekend.
Pirates rookie outfielder Bryan Reynolds has now accumulated enough at-bats to qualify for the National League batting race. Reynolds is currently third overall with a .335 batting average. New York Mets Jeff McNeil is leading at .340, while Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich is second with a .336 average.
