The Pirates lost to the Marlins 10-7 last night at PNC Park.
Bryan Reynolds hit home runs from both sides of the plate in the first and ninth innings, becoming only the third Pirates player in history to accomplish that feat. He followed Bobby Bonilla, who did it twice, and Dale Sveum.
Meanwhile, he raised his batting average to .333, five points behind National League leader Anthony Rendon of the Washington Nationals.
Pitching continued to be a problem for the Pirates, who had won nine of their previous 12 games. The Pirates have surrendered 10 or more runs for the 25th time.
Starting pitcher Dario Agrazal, was pulled in the fifth inning after allowing six runs, nine hits and two walks in 4 1/3 innings.
The Pittsburgh Pirates host the St. Louis Cardinals tonight at 7:05pm. The teams play again tomorrow night at 7:05pm (WISR airtime is 6:40pm). Sunday’s game begins at 1:35pm. WISR airtime is 12:35pm.
