The Pittsburgh Pirates begin a two-game series with the Chicago White Sox tonight. It is the first time the Pirates will face both Chicago teams in back-to-back series on the same road trip since 2009. First pitch for both games will be 8:10pm. WISR pre-game begins at 7:45pm. Bryse Wilson will start tonight for the Bucs.
The Pirates are also expected to bring up veteran right-hander Shelby Miller prior to tonight’s game, and he will likely start a game against the Cubs later this week. The 30-year old Miller is a former first-round pick of the St. Louis Cardinals and has been pitching with Triple-A Indianapolis.
The Pirates have fired batting coach Rick Eckstein as the Pirates have hit at or near the bottom among all teams in a number of offensive categories. The 48-year old Eckstein was hired in November 2018.
