The Pittsburgh Pirates got back in to the win column with an 8-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers last night at PNC Park. The Bucs had another 12-hit game, led by Jae-Hwon Bae and Jason Delay who had three hits each. Bae also stole three bases.
Starting pitcher Roansy Contreras allowed just two hits over six shutout innings. He walked two and struck out five. The Pirates improved to 17-8 overall.
The Bucs and Dodgers complete their three-game series this afternoon at 12:35pm. WISR will join the game following the noon news. The Pirates head to Washington after the game for a three-game weekend series beginning Friday.
Infielder Drew Maggi pinch-hit for Andrew McCutchen in the eighth inning. The 33-year old making his first big league appearance after spending 13 years in the minor leagues.
