The Pittsburgh Pirates bounced back from a 21-0 loss to the Chicago Cubs Saturday afternoon to defeat the Cubs 4-3 Sunday afternoon. The Bucs took three of the four games in the series at Wrigley Field. Saturday’s loss was the worst in franchise history. David Bednar earned his second save of the season in Sunday’s game. He gave up two hits and a walk to load the bases in the ninth inning, then struck out the side.
The Pirates are off today then have back-to-back three-game series with Milwaukee and San Diego. Sunday’s win moved the Bucs back to the .500 mark at 8-8.
