The Pittsburgh Pirates traded former National League Most Valuable Player and All-Star Andrew McCutchen to the San Francisco Giants Monday for two minor league players. The Pirates received pitcher Kyle Crick and minor league outfielder Bryan Reynolds. The Bucs also received $500,000 in international bonus pool space.
The move came after the Pirates traded starting pitcher Gerrit Cole over the weekend to the Houston Astros in a five-player deal. For Cole, the Pirates acquired right-handed relief pitcher Michael Feliz, outfielder Jason Martin, third baseman Colin Moran and right-handed starting pitcher Joe Musgrove from the Astros, in exchange for Cole, who had been their number one starter.
