The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the visiting St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday night, winning by a final of 11-6.
Geritt Cole was the starting pitcher for the Pirates, and earned his twelfth win of the season. He pitched five and two-thirds innings, giving up seven hits and five runs while striking out five and walking one. The Pirates’ managed a combined 14 hits in the winning effort, with five different players having multi-hit games.
The Bucs and Cardinals will match up again Sunday afternoon to wrap up their three game series. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35pm in Pittsburgh.
