The Pitt men’s basketball team earned a big road victory last night when they defeated Virginia 74-63. Blake Hinson led the Panthers with 27 points. It was the first defeat on their home court this season for the #21-ranked Cavaliers and first loss at home in 23 games. Virginia fell to 19-6 this season and 10-4 in conference play. Pitt has now won six of their past seven, improving to 16-8 this season. The Panthers are now 7-6 in the ACC. They host Louisville this Saturday night.
The Pitt victory was one of two upsets of a ranked team in the ACC last night. Syracuse defeated #7-ranked North Carolina 86-79 in New York.
